Agrotechnology.
The best soils for pumpkins are sandy loam and light loam. Pumpkin is sown when the soil warms up to +10+12 °C. Seeds are planted to a depth of 5-10 cm.
2-3 seeds are sown in one hole. After emergence, weak plants are removed.
Pumpkins are also grown through seedlings, with planting in open ground at the age of one month (phase of two to three true leaves).
Long-vining varieties are sown in ordinary rows according to a 1.4x1.0 m scheme. Bush forms of pumpkin are sown using the square-cluster method according to an 80x60 cm scheme.
Plant care includes: pinching the side vines, pinching the main stem (after setting several fruits), watering, weeding, loosening, and mandatory top dressing. For better formation of adventitious roots, the plants are slightly hilled up with moist soil. Fruits are harvested as they ripen.
